Go Cuco y Ñuru, the chilote fox that got cold are the first titles of children's literature published in this system that will allow children with visual disabilities to have access to Chilean children's literature. Thanks to funding from the Book and Reading Fund in its 2020 call, Recrea Libros was able to adapt and publish two titles from its catalog in Braille.
This is a path of inclusion to children's literature so that those young blind readers can fall in love with the books and the stories they tell us. < /p>
The launch of these books took place at the Hellen Keller School in Nuñoa, where community authorities and the Ministry of Culture valued the initiative. After the formalities, both stories were read by Alejandra Stevenson, editorial director of Recrea Libros, and María Isabel García, psychologist and author of Ándate Cuco.
As part of this project, 156 copies were also donated to different schools for blind children throughout the country, from Antofagasta to Valdivia.
The books are available for purchase on our website.
